You will need to renew your Access to Work grant annually and should be sent a reminder to do so. This can be done up to 12 weeks before your expiry date, but please bear in mind this can currently take up to 9 weeks to process so the earlier you apply the better.
You will need to check that you’re still eligible and have your unique reference number to hand. The same process will apply as when you first applied: after your online renewal an Access to Work advisor will make contact and request more information about the type of work you would like help with. They will also contact your manager if you are employed. A decision will then usually be made within 5 days of them receiving this information.
